Volunteers are a gift to our community!

2024 VOLUNTEER OPEN HOUSE  May 4, 2024  10am-1pm

Training is REQUIRED to VOLUNTEER. This gives you and our staff the best possible way to decide if volunteering at Pegasus Springs is a good fit.  For now, all volunteer work is outdoor, sometimes in extreme cold or uncomfortable heat, with quite a few near-perfect days too!  This is rewarding, yet demanding work.  We can't accommodate everyone's need to just hang out in the barn, we will need you to sidewalk and lead, along with cleaning manure from the stalls and runs.  Sweeping the barn is not the highest priority!

Please note:  Our horses are an invaluable tool for our therapeutic clients, and without them, we wouldn't be able to provide services for our riders.  We do not swap out riding time for volunteering at this barn.  This could be the most rewarding volunteer role you've ever had, but please don't ask to ride.  However, if you ARE an experienced rider, we do need volunteers to exercise the horses, and you will be gauged on your riding ability to be on the riding team.

Once you are invited to join our team, the orientation/training for Volunteers will take place on:

Saturday, May 4th, 2024 10am-1pm

Contact our office with questions: 989-820-1787  You may also text us a message!

It is not necessary you have experience with horses, but it is preferred.  The more you're around the barn, the more you will learn!

Minimum age 14*.* If you are under 18, application must be signed by a parent or guardian.

All volunteer applicants must complete an application to be considered, and because of the nature of our organization and the clients we work with, we require each volunteer to pass a background check.  Click the yellow button below to be directed to the Volunteer Application.

(read all the way to the bottom first!)

You will be asked to watch our training video online and view the volunteer handbook from the website before you attend your training.  Come dressed in sturdy footwear and clothes that can get dirty. Be sure to dress for the weather; we will have training rain or shine. (unless there is a blizzard!)

There is a $40 application fee per person to cover your background check, t-shirt and training. Click HERE to pay
